Greenberth project invests in refurbishment of port machinery for cleaner motorization

Refurbishment

The Greenberth project aimed at promoting energy efficiency and green technologies for berthing, specifically creating access for SMEs. EU-funding was received by a partnership of  large Mediterranean ports, technology partners and knowledge institutions.

One of the valuable results of the project were pilots demonstrating the feasibility of replacing traditional engines in port fleet, port terminal machinery and truck fleets with more efficient, less pollution engines.
