The American Company PureCycle Technologies built a plant in the NextGen District of the Port of Antwerp.

They will focus on purifying and recycling post-consumer polypropylene (PP). It will be the first recycling plant of its kind in Europe. PP is widely used globally, yet one of the least recycled plastics. It can be found in everyday items such as plastic rope or toys, cars and boats. The recycled PP resin will serve as a secondary raw material for the manufacturing sector.
