Indicator
Platforms connect diverse actors fyscially or digitally. They create value by facilitating interaction, transaction and colaboration. They can have various focuses, such as circularity. The Port Managing Body (PMB) itself can also take on platform activities to stimulate circular economy. For this indicator, the relevant platforms are those focussed on the port cluster and CE.
The port region is the area surrounding, and including, the geographical port area that is managed by the PMB.
How to measure its value
Calculation: sum of all known CE-related platforms active in the port region
Unit: Integer
Data can be obtained from PBM’s, port stakeholders and through desk research.
Limitations
- The indicator does not reflect the actual circular impact of platform activities.
- It is difficult to formulate an objective, consistent definition for the type of platforms and/or activities that should be taken into account.
