Port of Brussels Management Contract 2021-2025

Year 2021 (January)
Author(s) Port of Brussels Authority, Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest (Brussels-Capital Region)

The Port of Brussels Management Contract 2021-2025 is the fifth Management Contract concluded between the Brussels-Capital Region and the Port since its inception (in 1993). It represents the short-term vision for the Port of Brussels as a concrete translation, over a five-year horizon, of the long-term vision of the Port’s Board of Directors as formulated in the Masterplan 2040.

It is also in line with the political and strategic framework set out in the EU Transport Infrastructure Development Program (TEN-T), the 2019 General Policy Statement and the regional strategic plans with regard to the activities of the port, such as the Regional Program for a Circular Economy, the Canal Plan 2014-2025, the Water Management Plan, the Industrial Plan and the Regional Mobility Plan.

The Management Contract is intended as a strategic instrument that defines the objectives of the Port and the Region at this level and determines the conditions for achieving the objectives through the respective commitments of each of the contracting parties and the necessary cooperation with the other public actors.
