Port of Antwerp and OVAM are building a circular port

OVAM (Public Waste Agency of Flanders) and Port of Antwerp have been partners for years. In 2013, OVAM.LINK magazine published an article about the waste management plans that the port authority made on behalf of OVAM. As a result, the amount of shipping waste collected tripled in ten years and a lot less litter ended up in the oceans. OVAM and Port of Antwerp have also been exchanging data and are working together to raise awareness among port users about waste and healthy soil.

In their new collaboration (from February 2021), the partners go one step further: ensuring the future of the port by making the circular economy a reality.
