Dismantled bridge from Zeebrugge repurposed as a jetty in the port of Ghent

In 2022, Artes Group dismantled  the 400 meter long Verbindingsbrug or connection bridge in the port of Bruges to replace it with a new one that has a 130 meter long pivotable section, making it the largest movable bridge in Europe. Instead of discarding the parts, Artes Group, sandblasted and repainted them. The 400 meter long bridge was given a second live as a jetty in a dock in the port of Gent area. This project was commissioned by Gent Transport and Storage, a company that was in need of new loading and unloading capacity.

A fine example of reuse and circular construction.
