Circular perspective for the spatial design of the NZKG in the context of the NOVEX

The NZKG has been designated as a NOVI area, which means working together with the national government on the major societal challenges ahead: energy transition, circular economy, port logistics, housing, space for water and climate adaptation. The aim was to develop a coherent spatial strategy for the area so that the social challenges can be properly integrated into the NZKG.

Commissioned by the Province of Noord-Holland, the Municipality of Amsterdam, the Port of Amsterdam and the Programme Agency NZKG, researchers from Ecorys and Metabolic have developed future scenarios for the transition to a circular economy in the NZKG. The study aims to provide more insight into what the transition to a circular economy means for the use of space. The study stems from the Circular Economy Action Agenda and is a building block for the NOVEX NZKG Development Perspective.
