On Wednesday 1 November, the Sector Organisation Seaports (Branche Organisatie Zeehavens, BOZ) is organising the ‘Dutch Seaports Election Debate’. This is in the run-up to the Dutch House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) elections on 22 November.
During the debate, MP candidates will discuss the role of seaports in the Dutch economy and the transition to a climate-neutral society, including Harmen Krul (CDA), Suzanne Kröger (GroenLinks-PvdA) and Dorien Blommers (D66).
Seaports are an economic engine and the gateway to Europe. They create wealth and jobs and play an important role in the transition to a low-carbon society. But this will not happen on its own. How do we accelerate the energy transition from the nerve centres of the ports? How do we close the loop on the raw materials transition? And how do we future-proof our port delta?
The debate will be moderated by Ann-Lynn Hamelink, editor-in-chief of RTL Z and presenter at RTL Z and RTL News.
